Global assets administration instructions
Data manager role has the access to create global assets which are available for TestLogger Manager users. Data Manager role can given to users who want to help the community to maintain the database. Also few guidelines need to be followed when creating or modifying objects. Guidelines are defined in object specific instructions.

Car models
Car models are straightforward to manage. Few key points to understand.
Keep manufacturer names consistent.
Categories are quite static but you can request new categories from admins. Definition of category is related to tire models. All cars which can use same tire models shall use same category. If categories can have multiple subcategories to further define the class. For example all 1/10th scale buggies are under same categories but separeted to 2WD and 4WD with subcategories. Subcategories can be pretty much anything on how cars are separated e.g. nitro vs electric or 4WD vs 2WD.
Setup sheet status need to be manually controlled.
Description field is for Coach TQ. That is a good place to include some basic info about suspension type or chassis layout, etc.
Current trend seems to be that manufacturers release new versions of the car models once per year. From TL Manager perspective, I would recommend to make car model for the platform as long as new car model parts are backwards compatible with older versions.
As long as the car model stays the same, then it makes it easier to compare setups with multiple drivers.
Setup sheets
Setup sheets are under car model in global assets. Setup sheets tend to be relatively complex to manage and will require responsibility to follow certain guidelines.
Defining parameters
Few points to consider when creating the setup sheet.
If same parameter is available in front and rear, then use same name for the parameters, this will place the parameters to same row in setup sheet.
Do not abuse the setup parameters by changing the purpose. If some parameter is missing, ask a new parameter from admins (Jussi and Antero)
When reordering the parameters, then place front parameter above rear. This is technical limitation and otherwise rows will look funny.
Visual Mapping
Visual mapping has two purposes. First case is to use it to give visual help for user to understand what parameter is in manufacturer setup sheet. Second use case is to enable exporting setup in by PDF by using manufacturer setup sheet.
To enable visual mapping, upload an jpg or png image of the setup sheet as an attachment for car model, then edit car model and select setup sheet image for the car model.
Tire models
Tire models are quite simple and straightforward to implement.
Keep manufacturer and model names consistent.
Axle is in most cases Both. Front and rear are used if tires are specifically designed for certain axle. Best example of this is 2WD 1/10th electric buggy.
