2026-10-24 TestLogger announces damper position sensor

TestLogger has expanded the measurement capabilities of the Collector data logging platform with a lightweight linear potentiometer for measuring damper position. With 12.7 mm of travel, the sensor is a good fit for 1/10 off-road and ⅛ scale cars.

The damper position sensor follows the August launch of Collector Mini v1.1 and Collector Midi, which added analog inputs as the first step in enabling new sensors.

Damper position data shows which parts of the damper travel the car actually uses on track. TestLogger Analyzer includes a damper histogram out of the box, analysing damper speeds within a single run. In TestLogger Manager, long-term data reports use damper speed statistics to follow damper condition across multiple runs, so racers can see when dampers start to degrade and need servicing. The included screenshots visualise a situation where one damper failed and the failure was clearly visible in the data report.

Pricing and availability

The damper position sensor costs 40 euros (VAT 0%). Final price depends on the VAT regulations of each country. The package includes cables and screws needed to install the sensor on a car with a Collector. Mounting brackets are not included, and most installations need a simple car-specific bracket, like the one shown in the installation photo. The sensors are available now at testlogger.com/store.
