How to check magnet polarity?

Before installing the speed sensor or magnets in to the car, it's best to check polarity on the table. Here is some steps how to do it.

• Connect sensor to main unit
• Connect main unit to computer
• Activate calibration mode in Connector to see the real time values

• Move magnet (flat side) across the sensor and see if you see change in the input values

  • If input activates, then mark the side which is facing sensor with marker
  • If not activating, then turn magnet around and try again
  • Marked side of the magnet needs to face sensor when installed to car

Logging stops in the middle of a run

In many cases this caused by a broken wire. The 3 and 4 pin wires are really thin and sensitive for mechanical wear. Before doing anything else, check the wires carefully. If that doesn’t help, then remove all sensors and see things work. If working, then start connecting one sensor at a time back to Collector to understand which part of the system causes the cut.

It is very rare that the main unit itself has an issue.
