Measured channels

Collector Mini allows to measure variety of channels for performance analysis, but many of the measured values provides possiblities to calculate more relevant values for analysis. This page opens a little bit what items are possible to measure and some exaples what values can be calculated from the measured data.

Values available for measurement

Notes

Lap times

Split times

Throttle and brake signal

Can be any signal from the receiver

Steering signal

Can be any signal from the receiver

Electric motor RPM

Drivetrain RPM/speed

Measure speed (or motor RPM) with a speed sensor

Diff outdrive speed

Measure speed from both sides of diff outdrive

Longitudal acceleration

Lateral accelaration

Vertical acceleration

Use to measure air time

Yaw rate

Pitch rate

Roll rate

Temperature

Follow for example motor temperature

Calculation possibilities from measured data

Item

Notes

Throttle rate

See how fast input changes the driver is making by calculating throttle speed from throttle position.

Steeting rate

See how fast input changes the driver is making by calculating steering speed from steering position.

Acceleration vector

Evaluate how maximum grip is used in cornerning, braking and accelarating

Distance

Measure driven distance from speed measurement

Differential slip

Calculate speed difference between diff outdrives

Slipper operation

Calculate slipper operation with help of motor RPM and rear wheel speeds

Understeering/oversteering

This can be calculated for example by calculating how much steering is used during a lap or by with help of Lateral accelaration and yaw rate.

Track map

Draw a trackmap from distance and lateral acceleration.
